Hot & Cold

The weather has been playing wonderful tricks on me lately. It was 80 degrees last week but this week has dropped to mid 50's. I'm nearly confused pulling my sweaters and maxi dresses out at differently days. Today I paired cream hues together to match with my comfy booties. One upside to the cold is that I get to pull out my long coat which has bows on the faux pocket flaps. Love!

This look is keeping me real cozy right now and I'm ready to step out outside!

What is your favorite item for the cold?

My first haul post

When you are trying to distract yourself from something on your mind, shopping can be a good outlet. But a very dangerous one. I mean really dangerous, unless...you find an unbelievably awesome deal! In one of my previous posts I mentioned that Forever 21 was having a 50% sale on top of their already on sale items. I am somewhat proud of myself to say that I didn't totally go crazy (haha).

Here's what I got and the total I got everything for. I know I can't believe it myself either!

-I purchased this sequin sweater in black and have been dying for a sequin sweater so was practically floored when I got it for less than $6!

-The black flats actually were in available in cream with a black bow.

-For some reason I thought the strip in between were a shiny patent gold but it is actually a matte cream color. I might perform a DIY on these to make the cream strip black. I just couldn't resist them for only $7.99! Also, a little minor detail I liked about these shoes were that they came in a neon pink box.

-Been also coveting leopard flats and these had pretty good reviews so score. Come on - $3.49! For two pairs of flats that are less than $7.00 combined, I'll just skip a fancy lunch for a day! (That sounds like an issue doesn't it??)

-The rhinestone necklace was available in black so I went straight for that one. It is a lot daintier than I expected but still cool.

Did you gals purchase any great deals lately? A lot of stores were trying to get rid of last year's Fall/Winter inventory to get ready for 2013 Spring/Summer inventory so there probably were a lot of deals!

A better day of pastels

It's been a little tough to get back into the swing of things. I almost even booked an abrupt trip to Paris due to my family's wishes but that fell through. I've never been to Paris and never thought my first trip there would be this kind of experience if it were to happen.

Thank you again for everyone's kind words. My family and I will make it through!

In keeping up with getting back into the swing of things...I attempted to brighten my day up a bit with bright colors - pastels! I love the color mint green and coral so this is outfit is secretly wishing for the spring days to arrive sooner.

What colors do you gals love for the upcoming spring?

a long night...

It was a long night dealing with the aftermath of the sudden death of a family member so please excuse me because I rolled out of bed and threw on what as closest to me! I wanted to feel comfortable and cozy today so I threw on my go to big sweater...

My mind probably has wandered off for a bit but it'll back in a day or two.

Thank you so much for everyone's support and kind words.

Pearls, Studs, & The Ellen Show

Last night I had the privilege of being in the audience for The Ellen Degeneres show. It was so much fun! She was super sweet, funny, and absolutely adorable. I can't believe her show is in its 10th season. Of course she had a lot of her audience dancing all throughout the show!

Outfit of the day to sport my new fav piece I made - strands of pearls and rhinestones. I appreciate how the pearls give a small gentle touch to the amount of studs on my jacket... also gave the black and white a pop of red!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Spruce up your Monday!

Rather than being a Debbie Downer because it's a Monday, I'm sprucing things up today with hot pink and cheetah. Woke up to a shocking 36 degrees so bear with me if you can feel me shivering in the pictures. After this quick photoshoot, I decided to throw on a pair of black leggings. Unfortunately I was on a dash so didn't get a chance to take the picture with leggings. boo.

What do you guys think? Would you wear this outfit with or without leggings?

Ugh! Tried a new way to take pictures and it didn't work!

Paint the town red...

Yesterday was an extremely windy day where I buried myself in scarves (yes two scarves) and a coat and I was still cold! =/ Okay maybe I'm over exaggerating because I realize I'm complaining about the 50 deg temp here where there are blizzards in other parts of the world!

The sun was out this morning and barely any wind. It was a nice start for a Fri Fri Friday!

Tonight I'm headed out to a networking event with my friend but isn't it sort of ironic to go to a networking event with a friend? Well, she asked me to accompany her so I guess I'm going to paint Downtown red! J/k...

Also, I've just met some lovely bloggers through a super fun link up! Check out the link up through The Tiny Heart's blog here: http://thetinyheart.blogspot.com/2013/01/look-what-i-got-link-up-knit-scarf.html

In the above accessories pic, I stood in the direct sunset (thought it was cool how it seemed like I was at the beach).

Where would you go?

Nothing like a casual Friday to kick off relaxing for the weekend due to hectic festivities that ended 2012. It's warmed up just a tiny bit in CA, a whopping 72 degrees high today. I'm pretty sure soo many are hoping for out there.

Have you gals ever thought of living anywhere besides where you are now? For example, I've thought of living in a rural area, something completely different from the CA lifestyle, but didn't know which city would sit me best... hmm, have to give this some thought.

Would you live out of country even? I heard Singapore is beautiful and easy place to live and adapt to. Or how about Switzerland where I've read has an above average standard of living?

Anyways, just a ponder here and there... here's what I'm sporting today.

Peppy Peplum

My current fashion obsession this weekend? Peplum tops, not just regular peplum tops but peplum stripe tops! They're just too gorgeous to just get one.

Peplums are girly and has a vintage feel to them. Yet they're like skirts but not like them because they sit at your waist. I was hesitant at first  because I wasn't sure my waistline could handle it but you know what? After putting one on, I felt it helped out my waistline a bit. There's no harm in trying one at any store so I highly suggest it!

I picked up a few at Forever 21 this weekend but then saw some I adored online after. Ever feel like you had buyers' remorse even if it just a few dollars? I think we know how that feels.

I've chosen a few that I couldn't keep my eyes away from online. Had to show you gals...

It's here....

I mean the holidays! The holidays are so hectic I wonder how some families go about them. I'm in awe. With that being said, I am obsessed with coats and jackets right now. Can't get 'nuff of them. Is there one your particularly hung up on? For example, I'm hung up on capes right now. They're classy and chic. I'm in search for a colored one to match with some black boots. Yum!

What are your thoughts on the ones below? Help me out here! =)

Take some time...

Took me a little time but I guess a getaway for a few weeks is good for anyone.

Have you ever visited a completely foreign land and came back home and suddenly things feel different and you see start to view things differently?

Try it some time, go somewhere where you don't even understand the language, come home and see if you feel the same. I do and I don't, weird feeling.

Anyways, what I felt was most different in all the places I had visited is definitely the fashion.

I came to the conclusion that the U.S. is a melting pot not only of culture but of fashion. Each country has their own sense of style but in the U.S., anything goes for all cultures and ethnicities.

Which country do you like the fashion best? Paris, Japan, Brazil?

The fashion possibilities are endless...

It's all about the hair!

I'm a HUGE fanatic of hairstyles and I don't know why...

I feel like a hairstyle can make such a huge difference in a person's appearance and outfit.

I'm not a hairstylist at all but will be attending another wedding party this weekend and wish (and will attempt) to style any of the following hairstyles with my dress...

I just all turns out well or else I'll appear as if I'm early for Halloween! Eek!

What do you gals think?

I get a rush when...

What do you get a rush from?

Some people get a rush from driving fast, jumping off airplanes, etc. etc.

I get a rush when I find an awesome deal on anything fashion. So when I stumbled upon this tiered necklace at Charlotte Russe for only $1.99... score!

Its not too heavy either because the beads are acrylic and because it has different tones in there, I can wear it with black, gold, silver, or gray. Cool!

I wore it casually today to run just a bunch of errands around town.

What do you get a rush out of and who doesn't like $1.99 jewelry on sale??!

The Scariest Heels of All Time

There are some pretty crazy and out there ideas we've seen for fashion but have you seen these heels?

They're called Scary Beautiful from collaboration of artist Leanie van der Vyver and Dutch shoe designer René van den Berg. How do you walk in them? I have no idea!

I sometimes have trouble in 5 inches heels after a few hours in them but this must be the highest (literally) that we can get!

Ironically these heels look like they're in reverse even (the front side is the back).

It is definitely an ankle breaker! What do you gals think?

P.S. I don't own any of these photos, they were obtained from Yahoo.
