No, I don't mean the Walt Disney castle! I mean The World Famous Hollywood Magic Castle!
That's where I went to celebrate a birthday and entry is only gained by invitation by a previously invited guests or to be a club member. And a club member entails fees to enjoy the variety of magic shows, food and drinks. It is an absolutely fun place for adults only so if you're ever visiting LA definitely try to get a hook up there.
http://www.magiccastle.com/
I wanted to take pictures of my outfit and the place but didn't know until I got in that photos were not allowed and they do delete your pictures from your camera! Boo!
The castle looks a like a mystery house from the outside and there are scarce pictures of the inside. The inside though resembles old Hollywood glamor - classy!
Okay so with the glitz and glam of the Oscars awards and dressing to the nines to attend the Magic Castle (dress code is strictly enforced there), I wished how there were more occasions to dress in a ball gown. A full on ball gown. I mean ordinary people do not go to the Oscars and wear ball gowns and when do we ever get to wear ball gowns?
I wish I could wear some of these below! But when will I ever get the occasion to??
Which would you wear?

It's all about the hair...
I'll be attending a special dinner this weekend where we have to dress fancy shmancy.
I'll be wearing a strapless dress (pics will be posted after!)
Been searching high and low for hairstyles to match. Not sure if I can even achieve any of these cause sometimes my hair is just so un-tameable. Why do you think I disguise them in pics? Haha.
Here are some of my fav! But then again who wouldn't want to look like these women just in general!

My animal instinct prediction...
Just kidding. I don't have any animal instincts. Took me a while to even train my doggy to listen to my commands.
My prediction this upcoming season? Animal pendant and charms are going to be huge in jewelry and accessories. You might have already seen this trend popping up here and there.
I'm currently coveting them especially the ones with tiger and lion prints or heads.
This trend is also one of the styles I'm cautiously picking up (even though I'm loving it) because I don't typically stray towards animal prints let alone wear an animal charm on my body.
But it is time for a change this year to be bold! What are some pieces you've found yourself heading towards lately that you've never thought you would?

What a funny...
Pinterest is dangerous.
It'll keep literally lock at the screen for hours. Even without words, the coolest, prettiest pictures can keep me clicking away.
Below is one of the cutest and funniest games from back in the days. Can anyone remember?
Yup, it's Battleship!
Okay, I'm not going into "battle" but today's definitely a casual comfy day.

Currently I am...
I got this fun idea from Emily over at Blue Dog Belle to express how one is currently feeling.
I'm trying to this out now, let's see how I feel about it at the end...I encourage everyone to try it also! =)

Annoyed that the post office isn't closer to my place. Traveling there is a bit of a hassle and the service there isn't the best. =/ Anyone feel that way about their post office?
Listening to Rilo Kiley's Silver Lining (please check it out!) I have this sudden interest in Indie Pop. Anyone know of any good Indie bands I can check out?
Watching Say Yes to the Dress (and WAY too much of it) Why? Idk, nor am I engaged!
Reading a romance novel and Freakonomics (so interesting) - the romance novel made me cry because it was so sweet and Freakonomics brought me back to reality.
Wondering if I'm getting sick, the scratchy throats and sniffles or is it because I just read a book that made me cried. Okay, is it weird to cry even though it's just a book not something like a movie?
Feeling soo sleepy but shouldn't sleep because I won't be able to get a good nights rest by taking a nap now so I'll just sit here like a zombie.
Loving and hating the urge to go shopping. Spring is coming and I must I must be ready!
Missing my bed! Only to find my dog has taken it over.
Looking Forward To the weekend already - on a Monday, how sad is that??
Wearing the most comfortable sweats I have. Monday is just not doing it for me today.
Obsessing over jewelry! A sudden love for vintage rhinestone diamond jewelry. What are you gals obsessing over?
Look at what I found on Pinterest. Is this not one of the handiest ideas ever?!

Something new everyday...
One of my New Year's resolution that I'm still trying to keep up with is try something new everyday - no matter how small it is. For example, I tried vegan for a week and the other day I decided to take a new road I've never tried before on the way home.
Yesterday I went to a networking event on my own and met a hilarious guy who moved from Texas to Los Angeles to be a comedian. I was completely in awe of his determination and have never met anyone like him. So that was cool.
Not sure what new thing I shall do today. But who knows where life will take you right? Especially in LA.
Have you gals tried something new lately where you were nicely surprised by it's outcome?
Today I pulled out my polka dots, pearls & greens. By the way I love this little clutch that I got from Target for $10!

What I do on Singles Awareness Day aka Valentine's Day
Yup that's what my friends and I call today - Singles Awareness Day!
Is there a usual routine you guys fall into for Valentine's Day? For example, dinner and a movie, dinner and a stroll, dinner (that's it).
I like to spend this day watching my favorite rom-coms and romance dramas. For example, my all time favorite is Pride & Prejudice. And I've seen it twice today already and the days not even over.
Okay, I saw it last night after 12 am and I saw bits of it today during lunch. So that counts right?
It reminds me that you will never know where you find someone that interests - even if it's the person you were not attracted or disliked from the beginning. You Just Never Know.
So I'm wrapping myself up today with my fur buddy (my vest) and quite possibly, just maybe watch my fav movie again when I get home. I promise I'll stop tomorrow (quite possibly maybe).

Weird messages on your blog
Yesterday I posted a few items I'm loving that are in my fav color at the moment, electric yellow. My title mentions sunglasses. Today I receive this message in of my comments:
"Approximately 20.5 million Americans (17.2%) over age 40 have a cataract in at least one eye, and rates are expected to rise to over 30 million by 2020. Wearing sunglass, especially early in life, may reduce the risk of cataracts."
Now that above is an interesting fact. But I also received sunglasses ads sales below it. I know I haven't received my fair share of weird spam message yet since I'm new to blogging and I didn't turn on the feature to "prove that you are a human" so it's my bad.
Oh by the way, have you ever heard the voice that voices to you what the numbers and letters you're suppose to type are? It's for the spam blocking feature when you're trying to leave a comment.
I listened to it once and I regretted listening to it in the dark with only my laptop on. It sounded like the exorcist was reciting the numbers in the slowest possible way.
Here's something to brighten up my day - yellow!

You might want to wear your sunglasses
In one of my previous posts I mentioned my sudden love for bright, electric colors - especially electric yellow.
So you might want to wear your sunglasses now because it's about to get really bright in here!
You know what I love to wear with electric colors? Light gray. It's muted, subtle and definitely makes the electric color pop more than it already does.
These are just some of my current favs. What about yours?
Also I'm participating is Style Elixir's Style Session link-up. So please do join and meet some of the great women I have met! See you gals over there!
Here's one of my most fav outfits I'm contributing to as part of the Style Sessions:

How I lost weight...unintentionally...
I had briefly mentioned previously that one of the new things I tried this year was being a vegan for a week. A strict vegan - no butter, milk, eggs, chicken broth, chicken seasoning - nothing. Turns out it was hard being a strict vegan because I didn't eat sauces or anything that even had milk, butter, cheese. Which surprisingly a lot of foods included without us knowing.
For example, I was looking through the ingredients of a balsamic dressing, with plain sight you wouldn't think there was cheese included but there was actually finely grated cheese listed in the ingredients.
One awesome thing though that I noticed? No preservatives in the food in the food I ate because they had to be prepared healthily and by myself. I didn't feel sluggish all day (just extremely hungry every hour).
So I started eating meat again couple of days ago and I immediately fell into a food coma. Immediately.
Another result? My tummy slimmed down and the pair of jeans I wear in my outfit below usually fit very snug, but they didn't. They were just comfortable enough. I even wore a belt with my peplum top and it was at it's last loop!
I wasn't trying to lose weight but I felt the differences in how my body felt. But I couldn't say much for my mood though because I was hungry almost all day because I craved chips, chocolate, and junk food.
Would you gals ever try being vegan, even for a day?

Ugh, why?
I had a pulled a long night last night, not due to work or anything, I was up watching this series that I could not put down. Nor did I have to get up early this morning. I was thinking ahh, perfect, sleep in late a little.
But noooo..... I can not expect the world out there to not move, not product any noise, or just rest all morning.
There was light construction going on outside, a lawn mower that was busily buzzing away, and a dark barking. This didn't happen all at once, just simultaneously as if they were on queue.
Anyone ever feel this way? Ok, maybe I'm just a weee liiittlle tiiiny sensitive right now. Haha.
I tell myself I can not let this control me this morning. So yes, like I mostly do here I have my casual Fridays!

I just can't get over it
I just can't get over it. Some past experiences have been pulling at the back of my mind. They were mentally wrecking experiences. I can't get over them and am trying my best to move on from these experiences and not let them shape the way I see my relationships with others. It's been almost a year now.
I started this blog over a month ago and am so glad I found this as an outlet for me to put my thoughts out there because sometimes even my thoughts and feelings are hard to verbalize to those around me.
I like the creative outlet this provides me and also forces me (not in a bad way) to refocus on improving my thoughts and emotions.
Do you know what this "forces" me to refocus on? Personal style! I brainstorm on creating outfits and it makes me excited to try things on. I admit I have days where I just want to throw on my old sweats but putting images out there almost everyday, makes you really refocus on yourself.
Have you gals ever felt that way? Like even if you reach only a handful of people, you get excited and start throwing yourself further into your blog?

What I would never wear again
Yesterday I had mentioned that I'm trying different colors; colors I've never imagined myself to even dare try. My new fav color is neon/bright yellow. I do love yellow but always the pastel shade of it. I always thought wearing anything brighter I would be a walking lemon.
I am absolutely in love with this sweater but probably would never wear it again. Why you might ask? Because it snags everywhere! I had slipped on this sweater for a second and while flinging it over my head, a tiny thread got caught on a splinter of a hanger. To make it worse while I was pulling it out of the closet rack, it was not budging so I pulled harder thinking it was too snug on the rack but no! It was caught on another button and a snag was dragged even further.
I was getting upset at myself for nothing! I love this sweater but I'm afraid to move it in. By the end of today, it'll probably just be a large knit HOLE.
What do I do? What would y'all do?
Nonetheless...

The things you would do for fashion...
You know how you look at some pictures in blogs and the blogger looks amazing in their pictures with a snow white background or with a ground that is wet? The blogger looks so great in there, it's hard to even notice the climate around them. But I do.
Where I live, it does not snow but it can get extremely windy and the air can be strikingly cold. But I do give my props to the fashion bloggers who brave it out in the snow to give us those amazing shots for our viewing pleasure.
I can't even dare to complain but today I'm braving the painfully cold wind to grab this picture in one of my new favorite skirts. I can't wear the lace skirt to work (or caaaan I?) but I knew I wanted to grab a couple of pics with this entire outfit. Trust me, I was back in pants right after these shots. But I just couldn't resist!
What would you gals do for the name of fashion?

Has this ever happened to you?
Has this ever happened to you? Years back I was telling myself pink just isn't my color. It's a color that is just a bit too girly for me and not edgy enough. I would sometimes avoid the color, especially bright, hot, neon pink because it was too bright for my taste.
And remember this happened to me recently as I sat in my walk in closet like every morning, contemplating the outfit possibilities...I looked up and pink was scattered throughout. I had not realize it but as I was consciously trying to steer away from pink, pink was one of the colors i had unconsciously geared towards.
Today is a dedication to the color pink, not only for breast cancer awareness but also for ladies who say they don't think a specific color suits them. I ask that you try an outrageous color and see how you feel that day. Does it lift you up mentally and emotionally because you are doing something out of the ordinary to you?
Of course, I have been over the phase of no pink a while ago but it gives me some food for though. My next color...neon yellow.

What is your SSB?
Secret Single Behavior. You know, like how Carrie Bradshaw stated. What is your SSB? Or do you realize you have a SSB?
My SSB? I guess I can relate to Charlotte and Miranda's SSB. I stare at my blemishes (not for an hour) but before I go to bed to notice more or less any new marks on my face. It's like as if they would magically disappear by the next morning (yeah right!). And I love to watch infomercials, especially cooking ones.
But something I'd like to do without anyone around? I love to watch re-runs of movies and tv shows while eating. Not the new shows or movies because with those I feel like I have to pay attention to catch the details that are new to me. I like to watch re-runs and eat/snack at the same time because in that split second I'm looking away, I won't be worried I did not catch any vital details.
I'm not doing this in secret but I secretly love to do this when no one is around me. Just feels comforting, like my own zone.
Tonight, I'll be having dinner and drinks with my girls in Downtown. So I found a casual outfit for jeans day and something that I can wear at night. I'm surprised with how comfy the entire outfit is including the heels!
